HBMA Announces Organization Name Change

(WASHINGTON, DC) January 24, 2017 – The Healthcare Billing and Management Association (HBMA) is pleased to announce the HBMA membership has voted to change the organization name to Healthcare Business Management Association (HBMA), effective immediately.

This change supports HBMA’s focus on its strategic direction, which involves members working together to advocate and position the organization for the new era of healthcare. HBMA recognizes that the shifting healthcare environment impacts revenue cycle management professionals, and this transformation to Healthcare Business Management Association supports its members changing roles within the healthcare industry.

HBMA’s strategic direction and new name will continue to be reflected in education, events, certification programs, and vendor programs offered by the association. In the coming months, followers can expect to see updates to the website, branding, and resources that reflect this organization name change.

“I am excited by this change in organization name and what it means for our members and revenue cycle management professionals,” stated HBMA President, Michelle Durner, CHBME. “As our roles continue to adapt to changes within the healthcare industry, this organizational shift showcases that HBMA further supports, and aligns with, the needs of its membership.”
